Ricky Ruihong Li is a writer and editor of architecture. His projects bring together sustained research in critical theory, media studies, the histories of science and technology, and political economy—examining how architecture mediates this convergence. He is a member of the Workshop for Environmental Technik, an architectural research group dedicated to the experimental study and exhibition of environmental politics. His current project on “opiate architecture” traces a spatial and pharmacological genealogy of liberal globalism.
Li’s writings have appeared in Artforum, PIN–UP, and November, and his research has been exhibited at 80WSE Gallery, New York University. He has taught and served as a critic at Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and Parsons School of Design. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Pratt Institute and a Master’s from Columbia University. Li lives and works in Zhuhai and New York.
